Abhishek Kumar Vice President Operations & Finance
Hello, fellow students at the University of Lethbridge! My name is Abhishek Kumar. I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Vice President of Operations and Finance (VP Opsfi) in the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union (ULSU).
As a last-year student in the Combined Post Bachelor Certificate in Accounting (CPA Bridging) with the strong passion for student advocacy, identifying student educational needs and taking proactive steps to gain maximum support for meeting those needs through educational policy, financial responsibility and making sure that every dollar you contribute to the Students’ Union is used effectively. My experience through internships as an Accountant and Finance Assistant has prepared me to create meaningful change within our university community. These roles have allowed me to develop skills in budgeting, strategic decision-making, and working with diverse student groups – all of which are crucial for the VP Opsfi position.
During my time at the University of Lethbridge, I have been actively involved in clubs, volunteering into the career fair, fresh fest and member of student associations.

If elected, I will focus on key priorities that matter to students:
· Enhancing Financial Transparency – Ensuring students know exactly how their fees are allocated.
· Strengthening Student Funding – Strengthening financial support for student clubs, organizations, and events that enrich campus life.
· Advocating for Student Affordability – Working to keep fees fair while advocating for more scholarships and financial aid.
· Expanding Student Employment Opportunities
I believe that financial accountability and open communication are essential for a Student’s Union. I am committed to listening to your concerns and ensuring that the ULSU remains students-focused, transparent, and impactful.
