Demi Zalesak Fine Arts Representative Candidate
I am a dedicated artist and student based in Southern Alberta, specializing in project and event management. As an undergraduate multidisciplinary fine arts student at the University of Lethbridge, I have a breadth of knowledge and experience in courses for new media, cinema, digital audio arts; and I also hold a minor in French. Possessing proficiency in digital video production and media, contributing expertise to broadcast documentaries, serialized television, and brand strategy development, all fuels me to explore the potential avenues for media development in the surrounding area. My interests include music, photography, and travelling and I am eager to capture stories and share them with my community through creativity and collaboration.

During my time at the University of Lethbridge, I have served in several executive positions for 2 different clubs, Arts Marvels, and New Media Club. Primarily, I have served in the role of Event or Project Manager, aiding in the creation of extra curricular activities and events geared toward Fine Arts disciplines. From 2022-2023, I served as the New Media Undergraduate Student Representative where I had the privilege of learning from the department to better help serve the needs of my fellow students and address concerns by communicating with faculty members. Succesfully, we achieved several department & student led events for the department of New Media. As of late, I have worked along side the current Fine Arts Representative, Mason Hill to initiate a platform for cross-discipline collaboration and helped spear head the first Fine Arts Link: A recurring event for graduate and undergraduate students to collaborate and support one another in sharing their class projects with feedback and support. As I prepare to graduate in the next Spring of 2025, I want to maximize my on campus experience and make a lasting impact from time spent at the University of Lethbridge. I am looking to further expand my reach and network with the student body to continue the momentum and energy of the faculty across all Fine Arts disciplines while addressing the concerns and needs of my peers. I support the student life at the University of Lethbridge and I want to increase the representation of Fine Arts within the institution and continue bringing opportunities to life.
