Headshot of Moyosoreoluwa Oladoye

My name is Moyosoreoluwa Oladoye, and I am a third-year international student from Nigeria, majoring in Finance at the University of Lethbridge while enrolled in the co-operative education program. I am an actively engaged student on campus and in the community with a passion for leadership and community engagement, which is why I am running for the position of the Vice President Operations and Finance for this upcoming Students’ Union election.

Outside of my love for advocacy, I am involved in various clubs on campus where I contribute as a member or part of the decisions making body of the club, I volunteer my time at various events that happen on or off campus, I am part of the choir at my local Church as I enjoy singing and have been doing that for so many years. I enjoy eating and storytelling (a fancy way of saying I yap a lot), and as a result, I have a YouTube channel where I do just that.
My involvement in the University of Lethbridge Students' Union (ULSU) has been a defining aspect of my university experience. For the past two years, I have served as the DSB (Dhillon School of Business) Representative, as well as currently serving as the International Students’ Representative, where I have actively contributed to shaping decisions that impact students' experiences on campus. My various previous and current role has allowed me to collaborate with various stakeholders and ensure that student voices are heard in the university's decision-making processes, and I strive to keep doing so.

What do you know about the position you are running for?

What are some of the initiatives you would like to implement if you are elected?

As a candidate, my vision is to foster a student government that is accountable, transparent, and
deeply committed to advocacy. I believe that ethical leadership is the foundation of effective student governance, and I am dedicated to working collaboratively with staff, fellow executives, and the General Assembly to uphold the highest standards. By ensuring that student funds and resources are managed responsibly, I will work to prevent misuse and promote financial decisions that reflect the best interests of the student body. Transparency is key to building trust, and I am committed to maintaining open communication regarding the financial health of the Student’s Union. Students deserve to know how decisions are made and how resources are allocated. Through regular updates and clear reporting, I will work to ensure that every student feels informed and empowered to engage with the decision-making processes that impact them.

Above all, advocacy will be at the heart of my leadership. Representing thousands of undergraduate
students is both a privilege and a responsibility that I take seriously. I will prioritize student interests in financial and operational matters, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but drive meaningful change. By standing for fairness, accountability, and transparency, I will work to create a student government that truly serves its community.
