Hi, I’m Tobi! I’m a second-year neuroscience student who suprise suprise doesn't want to get into med school... neurosurgery terrifies me. I instead have a deep passion for research, especially in the fields of biotechnology and genetics. I love exploring how scientific discoveries can be applied to solve real-world problems.
Anyhow, I am a violently extroverted person and I thrive off meeting new people...like it's actually a problem.
But, it means networking is something I genuinely enjoy, whether it’s discussing intriguing research with a professor or simply sharing ideas with like-minded individuals.

What do you know about the position you are running for?

What are some of the initiatives you would like to implement if you are elected?

Student DNA, the building blocks to success.
Development
- Organize student-centered events that focus on engagement rather than passive learning.
- A Research Show & Tell, where students in research positions share their projects, how they secured
their roles, and offer tips for others looking to get involved. This would make research more approachable and inspire more students to explore these opportunities.
- Work with faculty to create skill-building workshops (e.g., research writing, coding for scientists, lab techniques).
- Ensure academic support like tutoring, mentorship programs, study groups and other accessible study
resources.
Networking
- Organize networking events with professionals, alumni, and researchers to bridge the gap between students and career opportunities; an arts and sci career fair.
- Strengthen ties between students and faculty to encourage collaboration and open communication.
Advocacy
- Advocate for more research and internship opportunities.
- Ensure that every student feels represented, supported, and empowered to succeed.
