Khamaya Cawley Arts & Science Representative

Headshot of Khamaya Cawley

Oki! My name is Khamaya Cawley, and I use she/her pronouns. I am a third-year student, majoring in kinesiology and I am running to be one of your six Arts & Science Representatives on the University of Lethbridge Students’ Union (ULSU). As a third-year Kinesiology student with a deep passion for student advocacy, equity, and creating an inclusive campus, I believe I have the experience and dedication to be a strong voice for our student body.

Throughout my time at University of Lethbridge, I have consistently worked to bridge academic knowledge with practical experience, both in and out of the classroom. I am particularly passionate about ensuring that all students, regardless of background, feel supported and empowered to succeed. Whether through my studies in human anatomy, or my involvement in track and field, I understand the importance of a comprehensive approach to student life that supports both academic achievement and the overall physical and mental well-being of students.

I believe that a vibrant campus community thrives when every student’s needs are recognized and addressed. As your representative, I will be committed to making the University of Lethbridge a place where every student feels heard, valued, and supported. Together, we can work to create an even stronger, more inclusive, and responsive campus environment.

What do you know about the position you are running for?

What are some of the initiatives you would like to implement if you are elected?

If elected as your Arts & Science Representative, I want to make sure every student feels heard, supported, and valued at the University of Lethbridge. I’ll be focused on creating an open, welcoming space where communication is key and where your concerns and ideas are truly listened to and acted upon. I’m passionate about making sure all students, no matter their background, have access to the resources they need to succeed, whether that’s academic support like tutoring or more career-focused opportunities like internships and mentorships. Mental health is a top priority for me, and I will work to improve stress management resources to help students maintain a balance throughout their studies. I’m also committed to fostering stronger connections between students, supporting sustainability efforts, and ensuring there are plenty of opportunities to get involved on campus. My goal is to make U of L a place where everyone feels supported and empowered to thrive.
