Hi, my name is Khushpreet, and I am a student in the Finance Diploma. I am excited to announce that I am running for the Calgary Campus Representative position. What inspired me to run for this position was my experience as a student, I felt like many of my tuition dollars were going to the Students' Union, but I was not seeing that investment returned to Calgary students. I have also gotten to experience first-hand many of the struggles our students face in my role as the University of Lethbridge Calgary Campus Administrative support, and I want the opportunity to do more to help students. Especially as I am also a student, and I understand many of these hardships and I want to make a better experience for our campus students.

What do you know about the position you are running for?

What are some of the initiatives you would like to implement if you are elected?

In my role as I get to meet a lot of student frustrated that they see events in the ULSU calendar for Lethbridge students but those same events are not offered in Calgary. During my term, I want to bring many of those events to Calgary Campus, to cultivate the student experience and contribute to their university life.

Additionally, I want to revisit the possibility of getting the UPASS for Calgary Campus students. Many of our students rely on transit to attend their classes and it is something that I believe will bring a lot of value to our student demographic.

In addition to bringing Lethbridge events to Calgary, I am looking forward to developing new Calgary events. I am hoping to create opportunities to have watch movies with popcorn, create fun competitions, and plan trips to visit the Lethbridge Campus to meet our Lethbridge counterparts. Lastly, to engage the different students and their cultures on campus, I want to celebrate different festivals and holidays with events

There is much more I want to do with the limited year term but ultimately, I want to ensure that I stand up for our students and make sure that they are heard and properly represented in the ULSU.
